Goals for 2016-2017
1. Increase Trip Tracker BCSIS sign up to 100% and participation by October 2016 to 90%...help everyone know they can walk a few times each month especially IN THE AFTERNOON to pick up from 1/4 mile away and earn some dollars!
2. Reduce carbon footprint of getting to school by 20% over 2015-2016 baseline.
3. Demonstrate the value of an educational fundraising vehicle to generate resources for the school (Earth Deeds “onsetting”) and raise money for BVSD Trip Tracker program which provides thousands of dollars in incentive funds to our kids.
specific goal for this: by Dec. 2016: 50 family teams participate in Earth Deeds to measure some kind of footprint and 40 make a contribution to Trip Tracker via Earth Deeds.
Goals of Trip Tracker:
Help kids (and parents) have more fun geting back and forth to school!
Reduce congestion outside school=more safety and less pollution!
Help us all see we can have a better life with fewer fossil fuels.
More exericise and readiness to learn!
· Other goals TT helps support :
Enhance sustainability education for all students consistent with Sustainability Task Force findings and state standards Sustainability Education Task Force.
· Reduce environmental footprint of transportation to school consistent with relevant BVSD programs (To School, Sustainable Energy Plan) Involve parent volunteers, staff and parents to inspire sustainability actions throughout the BCSIS community at school and at home.
· Demonstrate a model of a student-parent volunteer –staff group that learns from all similar programs in BVSD and elsewhere and can significantly support and bring to life the overall BVSD mission and the BVSD Sustainability Mission and Management System.
