Before beginning student teaching in Katutura, students will experience local culture and tradition by visiting a cattle farm, various national parks, as well as tent schools. Assignments, goals, and school activities are intended to deepen students’ cultural competence to serve them well as education professionals.

Program highlights include:

- Student teaching and volunteering in the township of Katutura
- Cultural immersion with a weekend stay on a farm and visit to Etosha National Park
- Climbing the tallest sand dunes in the world of the Namib Desert
- Visit to the North to see the Cheetah Conservation Foundation, the Ondao Mobile School, and Etosha National Park
