Nature Youth Camp 1000 trees project
An initiative by NextGEN Thailand
We supported NextGEN Srilanka to organize their second NextGEN Empowerment workshop in Jaffna, norhtern Srilanka. This workshop was organized and facilitated by NextGEN Srilanka coordinator and NextGEN Srilanka key members. 16 youth attended this 3 days workshop and got inspired to take active role in their communities for peace building and sustainbility.( We spent 174 USD to support this activity to happen). The rest of the fund is meant to spend on the Nature Youth Camp 2015 in Thailand. It meant to happen in May. But due to different factors we have changed the schedule for the Nature Youth Camp to be in October. The Nature Youth Camp this year, the children will be participating in reflecting on the Youth Camp last year and help to prepare and organize the camp. We will send the update of this activity again in October. Om

Redesigning school grounds in an ecologically sound manner
The younger generations are the future custodians of the planet's resources and many initiatives must be taken to educate them for sustainable development and also to improve the present situations of food and nutrition insecurity. One such initiative is the Schools and Colleges Permaculture (SCOPE) Programme of Zimbabwe which has used the Integrated Land-Use Design (ILUD) process as a tool to assist schools to redesign their grounds in an ecologically sound manner with impressive results. In addition, the Regional Schools and Colleges Permaculture (ReSCOPE) Programme has been established to promote the sharing of experiences by partners who are committed to assisting schools and colleges to demonstrate sustainable land use with a view of enhancing healthy environments in and out of school. All ReSCOPE partners work with schools and colleges to promote productive and healthy environments.
